Science rapper and BBC Bitesize presenter Jon Chase returns to Winchester Science Centre for an explosive show about the fundamentals of chemistry this bank holiday weekend, Saturday 29 April to Monday 1 May. The 45-minute live science show will be filled with bangs, fizzes and radical reactions demonstrating how chemistry works and its impact on the world around us.

Show tickets cost £1 on top of general admission. Live shows at 11am, 12.30pm, 2pm and 3.30pm

Best known for his weird and imaginative use of everyday items and ingredients Jon will take the audience on an exciting journey starting with the basics of ‘at home’ science experiments right the way through to big bang explosions, sheets of coloured flame and amazing jets of foam – the really cool stuff that only a science centre can deliver! With a reputation as the science rapper, Jon will start the show with a beat-busting science rap about the periodic table ‘Rapping the Elements!’.

Enjoy full access to the Centre’s two floors of hands-on interactive science exhibits, the Invention Studio and the outdoor picnic and play area. There’s also direct access from Winchester Science Centre to Magdalen Hill Butterfly Conservation reserve for those who want to experience views across the South Downs National Park.

No visit would be complete without experiencing an immersive 360 degree fulldome show the planetarium (additional tickets required).
